FICUS ELASTICA 'BURGUNDY' WITH CERAMIC POT
Mr. Burgundy is the definition of debonair: confident, stylish, and charming. He brings a strong statement to any room with his shiny dark burgundy leaves. He's been a popular houseplant since the Victorian era and likes to brag about belonging to the fig family and how his latex sap was used to make rubber. Very friendly to grow, you will find your single friends come over to visit just him.
General Care
Sunlight : Mr. Burgundy's dark burgundy leaves will grow best with bright, filtered light. He will tolerate a lower light, but the leaves will fade to a light green color. Keep the leaves dust-free so they can soak up the sunlight.
Water : Water Mr. Burgundy when the top 50%-75% of soil becomes dry. Do not overwater! When watering, be careful not to splash water on the leaves as this will cause them to stain. Take him to the sink and allow the water to drain all the way until it comes through the drainage hole. Water slowly and all the way around the soil so you get an even watering.
Food : You can use a general houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month during the spring and summer. Never apply fertilizer to dry soil. Always make sure the soil is damp before feeding your plant.
Planter : Mr. Burgundy arrives potted in our custom-blended soil in a white ceramic pot with a drainage hole.
PLEASE NOTE: When removing a leaf, be careful of the milky latex substance that may come out of the cut in the stem. It is a mild toxic irritant and should be washed off skin immediately with warm water and soap.
